We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing property management company in Tampa, FL. This role will oversee core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting for multiple properties, and partner closely with property managers and leadership to support day-to-day and strategic financial needs.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of properties
  • Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee general ledger activity and ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Handle property-level accounting, including CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and rent roll reviews
  • Reconcile bank accounts, operating accounts, and escrow accounts
  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis by property
  • Support audits, tax filings, and lender reporting as needed
  • Collaborate with property managers to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insights
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • 4+ years of accounting experience; property management or real estate experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and multi-entity accounting
  • Experience with property management accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar) preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Multi-property or multi-entity accounting

  • Budgeting and forecasting at the property level
